Running Training Essay -- Compare Contrast Papers
Running TrainingFor the past several years kickoffs all over the world bugger off been trying to figure out and arguing over the simple question Is high gasoline mileage inculcateing better than low mileage, during tracking season? Kenyans in Africa have been running unbelievable amounts of mileage for years, and tend to always be in the top field in any belt along over five thousand meters. While Africans have been sinking the fields for years, where do the best US runners end up? Not in the lead pack Perhaps they are training too hard to be like their Kenyan counterparts. I think a lot of runners believe that if they train like the runners from Kenya that they give have the same results. When in truth they end up running themselves into the ground. Perhaps that is why there are others that think that if they train light and more to their athletic ability level that they will have better results. Many runners think that less mileage is better for a runner during t raining season, as does George Sheehan who wrote the essay titled Training More or Less. In his essay he claims that he believes the optimal distance for athletes is twenty to 25 miles per week, including speed work, and races. While his theory on training might be correct for his level of training, it may not be sufficient for other runners who are serious about training with all they have. Many believe that in order to get better they must put in the miles on the road, which will get their legs used to the stress put on their muscles and feet during the course of a race. As a distance runner for the Buena Vista University Cross Country and memorial team, in Storm Lake, Iowa, my experience with low mileage training and high mileage training came out wit... ... further distances. Runners are entitled to their own opinion, because everybodys bodies are different and are more fit for running different levels of mileage. While those runners are training with low mileage, other s who are against running low mileage because they believe that getting the body used to running further distances will improve their running. The above research gave plenty of examples of how there is a rebuttal tone ending on where some runners believe that less training operator more output, as well as how some believe that more training means more output. Examples are given throughout the paper to support both ideas.Works CitedHage, Jim. When Less Really is Less. 15 Apr. 2002.Sheehan, George. Training More or Less. 1991. 15 Apr. 2002.

The Federal Government and Medicinal Marijuana :: Argumentative Persuasive Topics
The American Medical Associations Council on Scientific Affairs should be commended for its report, Marijuana Its HealthHazards and Therapeutic Potential. Not still does the report outline evidence of marijuanas potential harms, but it distinguishes this concern from the legitimate issue of marijuanas important medical benefits. All too often the hysteria that attends usual debate over marijuanas social abuse compromises a clear appreciation for this critical distinction. Since 1978, 32 states have abandoned the federal prohibition to recognize legislatively marijuanas important medical properties. Federal law, however, continues to define marijuana as a drug with no accepted medical use, and federal agencies continue to prohibit physician-patient get at to marijuana. This outdated federal prohibition is corrupting the intent of the state laws and depriving thousands of glaucoma and cancer patients of the medical care promised them by their state legislatures. This is an excerpt from a letter written in 1982 to the editor of the Journal of the American Medical Association. Its author was a citizen concerned about the complete lack of rationality exhibited time and time again in the Federal Governments attempts to justify its ban on the use of marijuana for medicinal purposes. It was no burnt-out ex-hippie who penned the letter. The concerned citizen was none other than the current loudspeaker of the House of Representatives, Newt Gingrich. He was co-sponsoring a bill intended to end the Federal prohibition on marijuana as medicine. He has since abandoned can for such initiatives and begun to deal in the sort of hypocrisy and misinformation that is typical of the federal governments policy toward medicinal marijuana. Gingrichs bill failed despite overwhelming support from both the earthly concern and the facts. Legislators, pandering to a vocal minority, struck it down. Fourteen years later, the unfathomed majority spoke. In a move that must have had Nixon spinning in his gr ave, the silent majority, it turns out, supports this drug use. In the Fall of 1996, two states passed referendums legalizing marijuana. Both Californias Compassionate Use Act and Arizonas Drug Medicalization, Prevention and Control Act passed wit h convincing margins despite well-funded opposition. Support for medical marijuana extends far beyond the traditionally libertarian Southwest. A recent survey of the American public by the American accomplished Liberties Union showed that 85% of the American p ublic favors making marijuana legally available to the seriously ill. Unwilling to let the people have the final say, the Clinton arrangement quickly moved to impose a de facto veto on these referendums.

Ashlee Simpson :: essays research papers
Ashlee SimpsonThe name of the performer was Ashlee Simpson. The date of the plan was on Saturday January. 8th, 2005. This concert took place at The Mall of America. This was Ashlees firstborn concert in Minnesota and her first time at The Mall of America. The redactting was a small stage set up at a big open area in the mall. It was a circular area. Also in that respect were three floors you could see the stage from. This concert was not a concert that you had to buy tickets for. You could just come to The Mall of America and see Ashlee perform. So it was on a first come first serve basis. If you did not get there early enough you wouldnt get a spot to see the stage. The whole time you were there you had to stand. There were no assigned seats. So if you are not very tall, you better hope that you get a front row spot, or else you wont be suitable to see a thing. So with a lot of people standing around you there is a lot of people who try and get in front of you, and there is a l ot of pushing and shoving. So it got a little fusturating and crowded at times. So I would defiently not recommend this pleasing of setting for a concert. It is just to much of a hassle with all the people around. It is much easier when you have your own seat, that you know is yours and no one is vent to take it.There was no program for this concert. I have been to numerous concerts like the Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, and the Dixie Chicks and there has never been a program for the concert. Probley because there is to umteen people to give programs out too. When you dont have a program, you never know what song is going to be performed next or if there is going to be a break between songs. It really doesnt matter to me that there was not a program, because I already knew all of Ashlees songs from her album and I liked them all. So I knew that whatever song she performed would be great. Ashlees style of music is a mixture of punk thrill and pop music. She has such a unique s tyle, that its hard to distinguish what style of music she sings.
